country squire

1.
oh beautiful trucks and bugs like rain
stoic slouch of the family man    his mini-van and many vanities
in its cargo how encompassing    in its handling how like a slug
fecund mothers of East-Side Mario's take heed before morning

He hovered around the barbeque a drunk mosquito
stars piercing    the how-are-you's
retinal auroras    our bad manners storm warning
shivering bats    the stoic slouch
water black elliptic    the yellow boatcord frayed
swung & struck out    the survivors swarming

the raving over    the wavering waves
rock on a deckchair    stone wood
last night's storm    oar in the driftwood bay
no blueberries    the ladder rusts
the gastank empty    his stoic slouch
let's go swimming    sink like a butterfly

fed some fish some worms
rain on a tin roof we hid under

2.
back home the quiet room
sweet children who are spared choice and who
(except for the parricides and mother fuckers)
    a d o r e
the quim tang of doggybreath

feelings ugly sometimes when they are around

shivering bats = lizard-suckers
skittering skeeters = drunks

I get malodorous & doleful indolent think of
TIME
                   &    CHOLESTEROL
   &   MARRIAGE
                  &
                     CANCER
&  GETTING SERIOUS
       &   REAL-ESTATE
   & BABIES
        & EMOTIONAL TOURNIQUETS
FOR BLEEDING RELATIONSHIPS

3.
the singing in our streets
   we to our chief cannibal
     is hip-hop fatalistic or S.U.V.
& rather thick through the middle
  frequencies
grasshopper
